I am a fully qualified Humanistic Integrative Counsellor from Wealden Psychology Institute in East Sussex. I am a Registered Member of the BACP. I practice in line with their code of ethics.
I have been fortunate enough to have many years at home bringing up our four children and now cherish time with our grandchild. Since our four have grown up I wanted to do something that would help others to be the best they can be in their world.
I have a private practice with clients from all backgrounds.
Ranging from children, teenagers, adults and elders. You are never too young or too old.
I work with student counsellors whilst they do their training.
I am also a qualified clinical supervisor.
I also work part time in a mixed secondary school with Students from ages 11-19 years old, some have suffered real mental health struggles and counselling does have a positive impact on the lives they go on to have.
How it Works...
There is nothing mystical or magical about counselling, I dont have a magic wand and I can not read your mind either, as some may think.
If you injure yourself or break a bone you would seek help to mend it, what is so different about having help with your mental health.
What I can do is create a safe place where you feel comfortable and relaxed, in my company, to build a good relationship for you to really explore how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours impact on your life.
If you seek to change, I can facilitate you in making choices that fit with your existence.
I do that by using the expertise, dedication to learning and creativety I have gained through theories, continued professional development courses, reading relevant books
and generally keeping up to date with current thinking in mental health. Theoretical models includes Person Centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis, Egan, Clarkson, CBT and many more. I can incorporate any combination of theories to fit with who, how and why you are having difficulties and seeking counselling at this point in your life.
